Dear Mr. Doyle,
I am a status offender in a level three placement, and because of your law I have to attend an on-ground school. The school is pretty good, but the fact of it is, I will be behind in my foreign languages which may set me back from graduating on time. If I was able to go to a public school I would be able to stay on track and be able to be successful. I just feel that this law is setting some kids up for failure. I will be a senior in August, and I am doing well in school, but I will have to double up on my foreign languages in order to graduate with the rest of my class. I am strongly against this law and I feel that it should be re-assessed using the “incorrigible kids” opinions. I am pretty sure the whole point of being put into placement is to help the kid out and keep the kid out of trouble. So, what happens when you’re doing just the opposite of helping them be successful? I hope you will consider this, and possibly do something about it.
